It is used for reduction cleaning after dyeing/printing with polyester disperse dyes, and its effect in preventing staining of spandex is superior to that of sodium hydrosulfite. When used under acidic conditions, it generally does not require draining, significantly shortening process time and reducing process costs. It does not affect the dilution and perspiration effect, and the color change is small.

It can improve various fastnesses of polyester dyed fabrics, such as soaping fastness, rubbing fastness, and water immersion fastness.
